Round 2 of the 2017 Women’s National Premier League will be part of a Celebration of Women’s Sport at The Parks Football Centre on Wednesday, March 8.

Held on the night of International Women’s Day and run in conjunction with the Office for Recreation and Sport, the two-pitch facility will burst into life with ‘Come and Try’ Activations for a variety of sports, the opportunity to meet leading South Australian female athletes and two games of the PlayStation 4 WNPL.

Chair of the SA Women in Sport Taskforce and Assistant Minister to Premier Jay Weatherill, Katrine Hildyard MP, will release the ‘Girls Can, Women Can’ video at the event.

Stella Rigon, Captain of local Clubs, Fulham United and Adelaide United, will be in attendance along with netballer Erin Bell, Captain of the Adelaide Thunderbirds and Sarah Perkins from the Adelaide Crows.

The Celebration of Women’s Sport begins at 6pm on Wednesday March 8 with Come & Try Activations and a Q&A Session with elite female athletes prior to the 7pm kick-off of the WNPL.

Metro United will host West Adelaide with Adelaide University v Adelaide City kicking off simultaneously.

Entry to this event is free of charge.
