AUSC’s own Jamilla Hull has made the first State Women’s Futsal team. We hope you can help…

My name is Jamilla Hull. I am a university student in my fourth year of a five year double degree. I also play for Adelaide University Soccer Club in the premier league squad.

Recently, I was selected to represent South Australia in our first open women’s futsal team at the 2014 FFA Futsal Nationals to be held in Canberra from 13-17 January 2014. Futsal is the 5-a-side indoor counterpart of the outdoor game. Many of the world’s greatest players grew up with futsal.

My futsal achievements over the past year include:

Paradise FC
2013 Macron Women’s League Championship Top Goal Scorer in the South Australian Futsal League
2013 Macron Women’s League Championship winners
Selected in the 2013 Macron Women’s League Championship All-Star team

Pascoe Vale FC
2 x Most Valuable Player in the Futsal Oz Pepsi Women’s V-League in Melbourne, Victoria for the 2013 season.

I was lucky enough to play on loan to Pascoe Vale FC in Melbourne in their 2013 winter season. I played a total of three games, winning MVP in two of them. Over the three games I totalled 11 goals, playing a major part in the season-decider against top spot Richmond FC, where I secured 5 goals in an 8-2 win.

Being selected in the State team is one of my greatest football achievements to date, however it doesn’t come without a cost – players are required to fund their own trip. The total cost for the week is $1500, which includes the cost of participation, transport, a playing strip, “off court” attire, accommodation and food.

The men’s team have been lucky enough to find sponsorship, lowering their costs by more than half. Unfortunately the women’s team has not yet been able to secure a major sponsor. I have set up a Pozible account to help with fundraising, which can be found here. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Jamilla
