An emotional Michael Matricciani has called time on his short but successful career at Adelaide University Soccer Club.
Matricciani made a substantial impact in his first year at the club, forging success in all three State League 2 grades and evolving the club’s junior boys and coach education programs.
“It’s with a heavy heart I am stepping down from my roles at Adelaide Uni,” he said.
“I am proud to have played a part in the growth of the club not only in promotion of the senior men, but the growth of the junior boys program.
“It has been an amazing 10-month journey and I wish the club all the very best in the future.”
AUSC chair Gay Wallace acknowledged Matricciani’s contribution to the club.
“Michael has made a lasting influence in the short time he has been with us,“ Wallace said.
“He’s taken our club to new heights and set us up for further success with our men’s and boy’s programs.
“Thank you Michael, we sincerely appreciate what you have contributed to our club.”
The new head coach of the men’s 2022 State League 1 squad will be announced in the coming days.
