Adelaide University Soccer Club coaches have set a maiden finals appearance the minimum goal for season 2020 of State League 2.

Raff Frisina and new acquisition Matt Gaston will lead the first team in 2020.

“We are ambitious with our outlook this season and at a bare minimum, want to compete in the finals series come September,” says Gaston.

“A lot of that will come from the culture and professionalism we will be instilling in the squad.”

Frisina returns for his second season in charge of the University’s highest-level men’s team. Gaston’s experience playing in the National Premier League and coaching State League will create a formidable duo in the Adelaide University technical area.

Last season Gaston coached Sturt Lions’ State League 1 reserves to third place and a semi final.

“I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to coach in a first team environment and working with Raff,” says Gaston.

“I believe we can create something special at Adelaide Uni, building an environment where players are given an opportunity to progress and gain valuable senior footballing experience.”

Player trials for the AUSC State League men’s squad will start on 29 October.
