Adelaide University Soccer Club is pleased to announce Laura Johns as captain of its 2017 Women’s National Premier League squad.
The leadership group also consists of Chantelle Ryder, Ellie Bills, Katherine Ebbs and Elysha Magor.
Former Adelaide United player Johns returns to Adelaide after completing her studies and playing with the University of Massachusetts in the United States.
Ebbs, also a former Adelaide United player, also returns home after four years at the US at Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
Both Johns and Ebbs have appeared in the AUSC squad during mid-year short term stints over the past few years.
Ryder and Magor add extra W-League experience to the leadership group. As does Bills, who is the longest serving AUSC female player this side of the millennium.
The WNPL season starts on Friday March 3 at Adelaide Shores. Kick off against West Adelaide is 6.15pm.
