A new women’s futsal competition will complement the already strong men’s rivalry at the SA Challenge in July.

Adelaide University is looking for enthusiastic football players to represent the AU in Futsal at the event, with up to two male and female teams to each play against Flinders University and UniSA.

It is the first time since the events conception nine years ago that a women’s futsal competition will be run. The competition will be held on July 15 (men) and July 16 (women) at UniSA’s Mawson Lakes Gymnasium.

The mini “uni games” between the three South Australian Universities is all about participation and ‘fighting it out against our rivals’, Flinders and UniSA.

AU will look to retain the overall trophy as the three universities spend a week battling across the following sports.

Fencing – 14 July at AU Thebarton Campus Gymnasium
Lacrosse – 15 July at Flinders Uni Gymnasium
Squash (singles) – 15 July at UniSA Mawson Lakes Gymnasium
